Fire
I was late getting up today and turned on the morning news. I figured if I was going to be late, I might as well enjoy it. Channel 7 had their chopper hovering over two huge fires in Highland Park. They went 15 minutes without breaking away. The whole time you could see 1, then 2, then 3, then 4 houses go up in flames. The fire was so hot that even the cars on the curb went up in flames. The road was smoking too. During the 15 minutes one fire truck showed up, shot water for 5 minutes and then no more water. To make matters worse, a huge warehouse was on fire about five blocks away and it only had one fire engine, but no water.
Now for us Motorcity folks, we know that Highland Park had to get rid of their police and some fire departments, because they are broke. So the question was, well why didn't The Motor City come to the rescue. Well, they cant come help unless the fire commissioner gives permission. At 0 dark early, not really likely.
I wonder how long it will be and how many block have to burn down before someone dies? I can already see a rash of arson this summer....
